ABOUT PATRICIA STOFF, LCSW

Hi, I'm Patti.

People come to therapy for all kinds of reasons. Sometimes it's a pattern that keeps repeating — different situation, different person, same feeling. Sometimes it's something that happened, something still being carried. Sometimes it's a growing sense that the way you've been moving through the world isn't working anymore. Sometimes it's finally having a name for the way your brain has always worked, and wanting to understand what that means.

What most of my clients have in common is this: they understand, at least intellectually, that something needs to change. They just can't quite get traction on it alone.

That's usually where we start.

Looking at the Full Picture

I'm interested in the full picture — not just the symptom in front of us, but what's underneath it and where it came from. I pay close attention to patterns, to what gets mentioned in passing, and to the things that seem unrelated but usually aren't.

My goal isn't to fit you into a diagnosis or a framework. It's to actually understand you.

How I Work

My style is warm, direct, and relational. I ask questions. I notice things. I'll work alongside you as we make sense of what's happening and what may be keeping it in place.

Areas I Often
Work With

I have a strong interest in neurodivergence — including ADHD, autism, and twice-exceptional profiles — and genuinely enjoy working with people who have spent their lives feeling like they think differently than everyone else. Because they usually do. Many of my clients are also navigating anxiety, trauma, burnout, relationship dynamics, grief, or major life transitions — often more than one of these at once.

Who I Work With

I work with adults, young adults, and teens.

The Lens I Bring

I'm often interested in how patterns develop over time—not to explain everything through the past, but because understanding those patterns can create new possibilities in the present.

Therapy isn't about becoming someone different. It's about understanding yourself clearly enough to make choices that actually fit who you are.

I offer in-person sessions in Sarasota and telehealth throughout Florida.

If you're wondering whether we'd be a good fit, I offer a free 15-minute consultation — no pressure, just a conversation.
